Connections recap

Legsss and I had such a grand time bringing our best dancing fools to life last Saturday at Connections! It’s safe to say we’ll be making future appearance and maybe even endeavours.

Connections Collaboration

Very recently Vancouver producer/performer Legsss and I decided to make a little music together. Going into it we had no idea what would come out of it, and frankly we still don’t. That being said we have somehow been invited to perform at Vandocuments Art Party: Connections. For those of you unfamiliar with Vandocument, it is a remarkable arts and culture online publication for the Vancouver arts and performance communities. The party is Saturday November 8th at The Remington Gallery and I am as excited as I am nervous. I know wholeheartedly that this is the perfect audience for Legsss and I to explore our barely pre-meditated, mostly improvised collaboration with. Come check it out, and heaps of other insane talents at Connections this Saturday!!!

Intah sights

Amanda Bullick from Brutally Beautiful just sent me these pictures from August’s evening of music that marked the first ever performance of Intah. It was a hot and humid summer night. We squeezed into the cozy, red velvet framed space known as Merge Studios and set sounds of melancholy, darkness, heart worn sighs and beats free. I am so excited to see what develops with this project as the dreamy visions in my inspired imagination speak of great potential for playful exploration and theatricality. We kept it spare and music based for the first show and so the future holds our bigger ideas for now.

Intah

This Friday, the 14th of March, is the first outing of my new project Intah. I am so excited to be embarking on this sonic path with Martin Reisle on cello and vocals, and Jordan Barnes-Crouse crafting soundscapes and textures. Please join us in witnessing the beginning of a new musical chapter that will evolve to deepen my ties to the sweet and eerie, the spacious and odd.

Tunnels, Trainsmoke and Treehouses – Jeff Andrew’s release party

First I napped in search of my fading voice. Followed my breath through dreams hoping my lost falsetto would be found. Instead it stayed gobbled up by a cough but I went to The Railway Club well rested. I was quoted by a friend for musing loudly on mic that
“I feel like you will all find my flaws to be charming; you must all be artists.”
Ms. Jhayne deemed it the quote of the night and so I trust that it made my raspy, cough eaten voice more charming, somehow.

And then High Society delivered on sass and dance floor absurdity!

 It was a good way to spend a Wednesday night. Truly.

Tiny Lights Festival

Tiny Lights Festival in Ymir, BC started the summer off so beautifully that it truly feels like an endless summer. The festival happens on the second weekend of June in a small town in the Kootenays and is without a doubt a special and inspiring time. Here are some quick snippets of sights witnessed at one of my favorite festivals in Canada.

Tiny Tour Time

This coming week the delightful and charming Christa Couture and I are taking to the road for some springtime gallivanting. We will be gracing stages in Penticton, Coldstream, Kaslo, Kimberley, and Nelson.

I will have copies of my new EP with me. Each of them signed and numbered – only 100 to go around…..and less than that now.
